Tips for Your Visit

  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to a new patient appointment. Bring photo ID and insurance card. We will be unable to see you
without a valid form of ID.
  • For doctor visits regarding problems with an extremity (knees, shoulders, etc.) please wear or bring comfortable clothing.
  • Also feel free to bring a list of problems or questions you have for the doctor.
  • Please bring all prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as any vitamins or supplements to every visit.
Instructions Before Botox, Xeomin, Juvederm and Bolotero Treatments
  • No aspirin for 10 days prior to procedure
  • To reduce bruising: Arnica Montana 30c; take 4 tablets 4 times a day for 4 days prior to procedure and continue for 4 days after procedure. The tablets dissolve on the tongue and may be found at Whole Foods, Lamar Plaza Drug Store, People’s Pharmacy and other pharmacies
  • No ibuprofen or ibuprofen containing medication for 7 days before procedure (Aleve/Advil)
  • Along with the Arnica, Bromeline helps decrease bruising (the active ingredient in pineapple) so take some Bromeline supplements or eat some pineapple once a day for 4 days prior and 4 days after your procedure
  • Ice is the best thing for swelling and redness: no longer than 15 minutes at a time to prevent frostbite

Instructions After Botox, Xeomin, Juvederm, and Belotero Treatments

  • To reduce bruising: (homeopathic) arnica montana 30c; take 4 tablets 4 times a day for 4 days prior to procedure and continue for 4 days after procedure. The tablets dissolve on the tongue and may be found at Whole Foods, Lamar Plaza Drug Store, People’s Pharmacy and other pharmacies
  • Sabia has a lovely topical arnica preparation (http://www.sabia.com)
  • Bromeline also helps decrease bruising (the active ingredient in pineapple), so take some Bromeline supplements or eat some pineapple once a day for 4 days prior and 4 days after your procedure
  • To reduce bleeding: no aspirin for 10 days prior to procedure and for 2 days post procedure
  • No ibuprofen or ibuprofen containing medication for 7 days before procedure (Aleve/Advil) and for 2 days post procedure
  • Refrain from salt as much as possible for 3 days post procedure – salt will dramatically increase swelling (margarita, chips, processed foods, especially meats and soup are some of the highest sodium foods).  Ice is the best thing for swelling and redness; no longer than 15 minutes at a time to avoid frostbite
