What is a D.O.?

D.O. stands for Doctor of Osteopathy.

We take the same exams as M.D.s (Medical Doctors) but have an additional class for 4 years in spinal manipulation; much like a chiropractor. Osteopaths have their own medical schools for this extra training but then D.O.s can choose osteopathic or allopathic residency programs.

Dr. Freeman completed an allopathic residency (alongside M.D.s) in Family Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle.
